Description

After years making custom drums for some of the boldest names in music, SJC designed the Pathfinder snare drum to bring that same ethos to a wider range of drummers. It starts with a 7-ply mahogany/maple shell—the same hybrid wood mixture used for many of SJC´s signature drums. The maple brings the classic balanced tone heard on countless records, while mahogany enhances the low end for a deep, powerful "crack" on the backbeat. The result is a combination of warmth and punch. They didn´t skimp on the hardware and styling, either. This snare has SJC´s notorious flat black hardware, including their signature shield lugs and drop-style throw-off. Finally, the prominent badge shows these are genuine SJC drums, through and through.
